Just got mine but don't see a mute button. I use this in my office synced with my Droid. Is there a way to do this when I get a call on my land line phone (not the Droid as I understand how to take the call using the mode button). Thanks.

    • A.

There is no mute button on the unit. Hopefully there is a mute on the Droid.

Can I pair the speaker with more than one device at a time, so I can get music from my iPod, but still get calls from my phone? Thanks, Guy

    • A.

You can pair the speaker to multiple devices at once, but it can only be connected to one device at a time. It will be connected to whichever device was last paired.

When I plug the USB charging cord into my macbook, the devices charges ok, however I cannot get the Macbook Air to recognize the device as a wired audio device. Is it possible to plug my device in to charge and also use it as a wired audio device?

    • A.

I assume you are using the cable at the bottom of the device to plug into your Macbook’s headphone jack, correct? Have you tried setting the speaker to line mode by tapping the mode button twice (or until the blue light is solid?) If the blue light is blinking (it’s in Bluetooth mode) it will not be recognized as a wired device. You should be able to charge the device while outputting audio as well.

You can simply un-pair and re-pair from the Bluetooth device that you currently want connected to the speaker (using the 0000 passcode).

how do I enable the series connection on the satechi bt?

how do I enable the series connection on the satechi bt?

    • A.

This can be done by “daisy chaining” one (set in cable mode) to the other (set in bluetooth mode) by connecting the audio cable under the cable mode speaker to the buddy jack of the Bluetooth mode speaker. When connecting devices to the 3.5mm cable under the speaker, you will need to change the mode by double pressing the mode button (indicated by a solid blue light). If the blue light is still blinking, you will need to keep pressing the mode button until the blue light turns solid. Try double clicking it (a few times if unsuccessful the first time) like you would a mouse.

Excellent Travel Speaker This product is perfect for a frequent traveler to use with a computer or smartphone via a bluetooth (or wired) connection...this little speaker also can be used to unwire a home stereo using the series connection/buddy jack connection to the home stereo and a bluetooth connection to the smartphone/computer-music/movie sound source. Not sure if the sound will transfer through to a home stereo via the buddy connection as mono or as stereo sound since I haven't yet tried that, but it is an awesome product anyhow. I am rating it 4 stars with the assumption that the buddy jack connection will only transfer mono sound, but if I verify that this little speaker can transfer stereo sound through the buddy jack then I will revise this rating to 5 stars for this excellent little speaker. I am very thankful to Satechi for creating and producing this little travel speaker.

Great sound for a small area Sounds really good. The daisy chain link doesn't really make sense because the wire is only 4 inches long so you don't get the stereo sound I expected.

I am attending a barbeque and we needed speakers to use with an I-phone. when i check on the web with consumers report. i spotted the article about Satechi. just what the doctor ordered for this event. I received the BT portable speaker real quick . could not wait to try it out.
i read the simple instructions. its so easy to use. you can increase or lower the sound at the volume you need.from the same button. easy to charge up from your PC. Plenty of power . i tried it so far for 4 hours its still charged. you can get up to 6 its says but i have not tried it that long. i will at the BQ party.
i Definitely recommend the BT wireless bluetooth portable speak system..
    Enjoy..

Over all it is a good buy for the cost. This was purchased for a 14 year old birthday present. The sound quality was exceptional, however the volume did not meet up to his expectation. This would be excellent for an adult in a office or room environment.

Meet the expectation It is a good wireless BT speaker. For the same price you may find better product.
But this product as additional functions available when paired with phone.
There is some compatibility issue with windows 7, but works excellent with Apple iPad and iPhone.
The buttons are definitely not ergonomically design.
It also lack a direct SD card option.

Like the product but can be improved I am an engineer by profession and using this product for the first time was really good.It is not compatible for some of the flash players used by radio stations. Moreover, the power on/off and switching between tracks on laptop is not that user-friendly.The buttons need to be better than the existing configuration.

I hope Satechi will work on improving its product.

Pretty, practical, good functions but volume is too low Although it is a very small speaker, the maximum volume is just too low. It is very nice and has excelent features and functions, but would be of use only in quiet settings and relatively small spaces.

So I just bought a dozen more, so when they are wowed and ask......I'll just sell them one on the spot and believe me, it will be an easy sell!!

Cool little BT speaker for travelers I received this speaker for Christmas and have been very pleased. It was a snap to pair with both my Droid Charge and Macbook Air. The sound is reasonable for the size of the speaker and the fact that it is bluetooth is an added bonus. No wires and lots of flexibility. You are not gonna crank it up and have a rave with it, but it gets plenty loud for your phone or laptop. Sound is slightly tinny and bass is limited but come on, it is a 1 1/2" speaker.

A really cool option is that you can plug any other speaker or headphone set into it via the 1/8" jack and turn the speakers/headphones into bluetooth speakers/headphones. The speaker doesn't turn its audio off however for headphones you can turn the audio down so low that it isn't a problem...unless you need pure silence.

I travel a lot and this is great for the hotel, client's office, or cubicle/office space back home. Also, the carrying case is padded, seems sturdy, has a nice drawstring cord, and the charging cable comes with a velcro cord wrap! ...very nice touches to a nice product.

Teeny tiny speaker, pretty big sound I was very impressed with the sound quality of this little sucker. It is so tiny, when I saw it I thought it was going to be horrible. I was pleasantly surprised. Connecting via bluetooth isn't the easiest but once I understood that it really DOES have to be within 8 inches of your device to connect (even though the range is much larger once connected) it went a lot smoother. Great product. I had never heard of the brand before but I will keep this company in mind for future purchases. I am very satisfied.
