Great Features and Functionality The Satechi SP600 is a great presentation remote that packs a lot of neat features into a small package. It does have one small problem...more about that in a bit.

I use a remote to primarily control Keynote presentations on my Mac. I need a remote that can not only advance the slides, but also gives me access to URLs that I have embedded in the presentation. This remote allows me to do both. Just plug the receiver in a spare USB port and you are ready to go!

First the good. This remote fits perfectly in your hand. It has an indentation on the back you can rest your index finger on while holding the remote. It also looks great with its black and silver design. The buttons are logically placed and spaced far enough apart so as to prevent accidental presses of the wrong button. I like the fact that is uses 2 AAA batteries. Other remotes I have used have had button cell batteries that last a long time, but you have to make sure you have a spare on hand.

There are two modes on the remote, Presentation Mode and Mouse Mode. In Presentation Mode the next and previous buttons will advance and reverse the slides as their name implies (These buttons will also control the window scrolling direction when in Safari). The pause button will blank out the presentation to allow the students to focus on me and not the slide if I want to emphasize a point.

In Mouse Mode the four buttons at the top of the remote will control the tracking of the mouse. It takes a little getting used to as my previous remote had a unidirectional button which made the mouse tracking a little easier to control. The next button provides you with a right click and the previous button gives you a left click.

I had no problem with the range of the remote. Our conference room is quite large and it was very responsive. The red laser button is perfectly located in between the previous and next buttons and provides a crisp dot even in a semi-dark atmosphere.

It comes with nice carrying case with two pockets on the inside for the receiver and transmitter and a mesh pouch on the other side for additional storage.

The only negative I have with this remote is the button on the right side of the remote that toggles between the Presentation and Mouse modes. It is very difficult to move. I wanted to move the switch by just moving my thumb, but I had to move it to my other hand and use a fingernail to get the button to move. This switch needs to be a little looser.

Overall, a great remote for your presentation needs.
