When the 10000 mAh Portable Energy Station is connected to a charging source it will power itself upon a full charge (the LEDs will turn off). When it is removed from the charging source and powered on it will cycle (in a sequential motion) through the led lights.

What’s the difference between the black model and the aluminum model?

    • A.

The aluminum version does not include the adapter set, pouch or Universal power adapter w/ USB port. However, it does include a micro USB charge cable and a micro USB to 30-pin adapter. The aluminum version is about 1cm wider, 0.5cm shorter and 0.6oz heavier than the black model. It also has 4 led charge indicators versus 5.

Hi, I would like to find out how many iphones/ipads can be charged by a fully-powered Satechi 1000mAh energy station? And how long does it takes to recharge the Satechi energy station? Please also let me know if you ship the Satechi energy station to Singapore and if yes, what will be the shipping cost? Thank you.

    • A.

The new Portable Energy Station may be able to charge the iPhone five times and the iPad 1 & 2 at least one time. However, this can vary based on the processes currently running on your ipad/phone. Unfortunately it will not be able to fully charge the iPad 3 as it requires 12,000 mAh and our Portable Energy Station will only supply 10,000. It will take between 7-9 hours to charge the Energy Station and shipping to Singapore is estimated at $18.42 for First-Class Mail International Parcel, $38.90 for Priority Mail International, and $48.80 for Express Mail International.

Excellent but could be better Basically anything USB and you can charge so long as you have the cable.
If you fly long haul quite a bit then this is a MUST. Keeps those battery hungry devices powered up enough to last any flight.

Good backup power charger I use the Satechi to power my phone and iPad when traveling with my son's basketball team. We have long weekends and many hours in gyms, but now I don't worry about trying to conserve phone usage. I used to be scared that I would not be able to make an emergency call late in the evening between game sites and te hotel.

In general it is good for long days out and not worrying about conserving your phone battery.

Satechi 10000 Bought unit as I was going to a conference during the weekend and did not want my smartphone to totally discharge as it was not convenient to be tethered to a wall outlet.

With the unit fully charged (it was almost fully charged upon delivery), I was able to charge my smartphone while it was in my backpack.

I saw this unit recommended in an article on MakeUseOf.com . I chose an external portable charger over a charger specific for my smartphone as I will be able to use it when I upgrade my phone. I can also use this unit for another device such as a tablet.

In sum, I am quite satisfied with the unit. One more thing to mention, I needed this in a few business days and think the price for postage should have been lower but...

Great product, saves my life constantly I've bought 3 of these myself throughout the last 2 years, got others to get at least 2 for others and constantly tell people about these. Awesome device, low cost for energy storage, good form factor, keeps its charge.

Does what it says, when i go on a work trip i can be gone a week and it will keep my phone and tablet charged the whole week.

Long drives in rentals, travelling all day, helping out a friend, at work during a long conference, whatever - easy to have in a bag and always working.

My only pet peeve about them is the charging port should be on the same side as the output port (in between the 2 will be perfect). It would avoid the stress when charging in a bag and make easier overall. But that's a minor annoyance to a product that just works.

Powerful Quality Product The unit works as advertised, is easy to use, stylish, and recharges my iPhone several times. However, one fairly serious weakness is that the unit can't be charged from a computer USB and must be plugged into a wall socket. It's a hassle to cart around both the plug and battery on long trips. At a minimum, the plug prongs should fold into the power adapter.

Performed well, as advertised. I purchased two of these to take on an extended kayak camping trip to a remote island.

One pack performed flawlessly: I did not have problems that some people have reported. My pack stayed charged up (even sitting idle for a month following the trip) and was able to recharge my iPhone multiple times. I was able to recharge the pack using a folding solar panel array.

The other pack was damaged when a dry bag seam failed and the battery pack was submerged for a significant amount of time. Sad, but to be expected.

The advert describes the devices that this pack can charge- but it is not an all inclusive list. My superzoom camera came with a USB->? cable which handles both data transfer and recharges the camera's battery. The USB end of my camera's cable plugged into this battery pack and charged my camera battery from the 2A port. (Not sure if I will ever use the 1A port).

Very satisfied with the performance so far (although this is obviously not a long-term assessment). Bummed I lost the purchase price of the 2nd- but that was no fault of Satechi.

    Satisfied customer!

How did I live without it I use my iphone and Gopro cameras all of the time and I am not at home alot or around power sources which as anyone with the products will testify is not a good combination.
I research everything I buy in depth and I settled on the Satechi 10000 mAh Energy Station and I couldnt be happier.
This little power box is at home slipped into my day pack or into my camera bag taking hardly any room and I can forget it is there until I need it.
On the first charge of the powerpack I got four iphone charges out of it as well as charging up my Gopro four times and my bluetooth speakers twice. You cannot get better than that.
If you are out and about alot and use your devices then get one of these as I cannot praise them enough.
Satechi provided extrememly quick service and delivery. Thank you.

Excellent This battery charger has the power I need and is easily charged with a micro-usb industry standard input and usb output. It's great because not only can you charge anything with USB, you can recharge the battery pack with a standard micro-usb cable. I've used this to keep my electronics charged during long bike rides, to recharge my iPad, and to keep my iPad / iPhone / Android Moto X fully charged BEFORE they run out of juice.

Great product Lots of bang for your buck with this battery. Huge amount of power storage charges at least 2 full iphones or iPad to maybe 40–50%. No complains except that you have to carry around a microUSB charge cable with you, no other way to charge it and the provided charge adapters are way too easy to lose.

It arrived super fast and I took this out bush for a week, where it charged my iphone every night and charged my daughters ipod once, before it was out of power. I use my phone all day for browsing and for the camera, so the phone was always on very low % before being recharged. very, very happy that this does what it says it does. awesome. swivelfish.com

Very happy with this product I had been looking for a charger with multiple charging options (USB mini, apple 30 pin, etc.) and read some reviews on this product. I have had it now for 6 months and couldn't be happier. I travel a lot and at times have completely recharged an iPad 2 once time and my iPhone 4s 3-4 times on one charge. If has a 1.0 and 2.1 amp configuration and led remaining charge lights with automatic shut off once the intended unit is fully charged. While not small, the form figure allows you to put it in your back pocket if necessary to charge your phone on the go. Great product. I am now looking into the Satechi 300 Mini Router/Repeater. Would highly recommend this charger to anyone, especially those on the go.

Excellent portable battery, pack best bang for your buck Best portable battery pack in regards to the size and amount of energy storage. Other battery storage devices are larger for it's size. Only down side is that it's capacity is probably more like 8500-9000 mAh. As it was only able to charge my Samsung S4 just over 3x (was using it a bit at the time). Not exactly scientific or ultra conclusive testing, but still i'm not convinced of it's 10000 mAh capacity, but i somewhat expected some loss to the advertised amount as all batteries have never been at full capacity.

i would still recommend it, as it comes with 2x USB charging points, 2A and 1A charger. So it can charge two devices at the same time. The 2A also charges mobile phones faster than you can use it. It's almost as fast as mains charger with the genuine accessories. the 1A is as expected. It does come with a bag that's too small for the battery and a charger which i never used, I've always used the USB charge cable from the phone and the wall adapter, works a treat. Recharge of the battery is approx 16hr for me from flat to full charge using my samsung cable and wall adapter (as opposed to the supplied wall charger)

Happy Camper Only had the Satechi 10000 mah battery for a few days, but so far have partially charged an iPhone 5 and a iPad Mini. Have fully charged my HTC One once and partially once. I still have 4 LEDs out of 5 remaining. My biggest concern was with my HTC One charging in AC Mode and not USB Mode and am happy to report that if you use the supplied USB wire and adapter you WILL charge in AC Mode. Using the original HTC USB wire you will charge in USB Mode. All in all I'm one HAPPY CAMPER.

I have to use the cable that came with the phone which is pretty long. The unit needs to offer a cable that is shorter so it will be more portable. Other wise it is a great product that does exactly what it should.

Fabulous product! This is everything promised! It is light weight, compact and powerful. As soon as I received it I charged it overnight. The next day I charged my dead Sony e-reader and my Galaxy S3 phone. Each charged in about 3 hours, and the energy station still had lots of power. As stated in previous reviews, even the charger to charge the energy station is small and light. The price is very reasonable. This product is a dream come true for a traveller who may not always be near a car, a wall plug or a laptop. It will get a workout when I go to Australia and New Zealand for 2 months!

Big help when camping I have been using this product for a little over a year now, for my travels and camping trips and it never failed. I'd always bring it with me when I have camping trips without power source. Was able to charge my phone for 3 consecutive days (after using it mainly for playing music and games) including my friend's tablet and it still had juice left. It didn't also drain easily after camping in high altitudes where the cold temp can drain your batteries faster even when not in use.
For a 10,000mah charger, it takes several hours to fully charge it though, so if you have a trip the next day, be sure to set a reminder of charging it at least a whole day before.
When I dont have trips, I'd still bring it along for charging my phone and other gadgets, and power lasts for about a week before it totally drains to 0. Weight and size is just right, for me.
I'd recommend this product to anyone. Have already been recommending this to some of my friends.

Can't Recommend This More Following a very comprehensive review of portable chargers at http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/the-best-usb-battery-pack/, making the decision to buy a Satechi Portable Energy Station was a no brainer.

Compared to the competition, the weight to power output to price ratio is one of the best.

Being able to charge the Energy Station from a variety of sources and it being able to store the equivalent of five iPhone charges make it the perfect companion when travelling and off the grid.

It's light weight, the compact form factor is easily stowed in a backpack, it's stupidly simple to use and can power/charge two devices at once.

Would Recommend It has only been a little over a week and I have only used it a couple of times, it appears to be doing what is supposed to based on the ads and the reviews. I use it to charge my wife's old HTC Evo 4G and my Evo 3D (with Seidio extended 4000mah battery). I bought it since we are always out of the house, always outdoors. Usually my wife's phone would run out of juice after continuously being on Facebook and other social media sites, she would end up borrowing my phone and end depleting my battery as well. Now that we have this device she has not borrowed my phone ever since. At first I was thinking of getting another one but looks like one would be good for both our phones. I have searched online before I purchased and I think this is the best one for the price, size and performance, others with similar capacity are over $100. The device feels a little heavy which is a good thing to me, feels expensive unlike others which are so light that it feels generic. So far so good. I would recommend this item.

Excellent value and convenient The pack is super easy to use - just charge it up using a MicroUSB cable, either through a wall outlet or even by USB on a computer and then you've got 10,000 mAh at your disposal. The high capacity of the battery is super useful, as is the 1 and 2 amp options (there's two USB outlets).

The LED lights let you know quickly how much charge you have left. It's a little heavy but the build quality is great and the price is right too, After using one for 2 months, I'm buying my second now.

Performs as advertised - Very Satisfied This battery pack does and is all that it has advertised. I fully charged the device and proceeded to charge an iPad mini 3 partial charges (about 30% each time) and an iPhone 5 from partial and low battery state and I still have 60% on the device. It would be handy to have the 2.1 vs the 1.0 amp jacks marked, but once you check them, they are easy to remember. The space between the jacks is amble for two devices to be plugged in at the same time. The two different outputs makes it versatile for many devices. It is lightweight, easy to carry and looks great, too. I put screen protectors on the front and back to help keep it looking nice. I look forward to using this device for traveling, extended days or for emergencies.

Sleek Power Power to spare in an attractive package. Ability to charge 2 devices at the same time is excellent. Slim profile allows you to pack in smaller space. Great during long flights and where other charging options unavailable or nonexistent. Charges iPhone 4S about 6-7 times without having to recharge battery.

Simple, does with it should, nothing extra Works great, easy to understand. Small and compact. The case that comes with it fits everything (bulging) which is a bit too bad. But if you take the wall adaptor out then it fits perfectly - and seriously you don't need to carry the wall adaptor with you everywhere so it isn't really a problem.

    GOOD BUY.

Great product! This is by far the best mobile charger on the market. It was able to fully charge my HP TouchPad (6300 mAh battery), my Samsung Galaxy S II (1650 mAh), and my Ipod Touch (1st gen, 580 mAh) with power to spare. It isn't very big, nor does it get hot while its charging devices. I would recommend this for anyone on the go.

Wow Power to spare This portable battery exceeded my expectations. I used over a 10 day vacation for Florida at Universal & Disney World to keep my iPhone powered up. My wife and I never ran out of power during our all day outings. I also like that it uses a standard micro USB cable for re-charging the battery pack.

Amazing price for so much battery! After searching online for viable portable power to take camping, I was resigned to either Belkin's 4000 mAh power brick or the 5000 mAh unit from Veho. Thankfully I stumbled across the Satechi website looking for the BT iPad remote, and I saw the amazing price for the 10000 mAh Portable Energy Station. With 2 USB ports, the Portable Energy Station fills every need I have for recharging my devices on an extended camping trip. The device is far smaller than it appears on the website -- I was surprised that it was just a little larger than my Android phone. On a recent trip, the Portable Energy Station allowed me to keep my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet & Sony Xperia S phone fully charged for the whole weekend. It hold a amazing amount of power for such a small power brick, and I thoroughly recommend the Satechi Portable Energy Station Extended Battery Charger.

Well worth the money--better than others! I purchased this after reading an article in Engadget. Just based on specifications, I was thoroughly impressed. When it arrived, it moved me even further to beyond impressed. The device comes with different tips to use for charging, which was a surprise. It's a quality device, at an extraordinary price. I have a Zagg device, which pales compared to this, and is twice the price. (Or it least it was when I bought it.) It is also a fraction of the capacity.

The Zagg loses power over time--significant power. (It could be my unit, but my friend has one, too, and sees the same issue.) This device holds its charge, as I would expect it would. Perhaps it is because it has an on/off button, which I prefer.

It does take a good while to charge the device, but it is a 10000 mAh device, so that is expected.

Unsure of 10,000 mAh rating In the week I've had the product I've charged my droid phone (1,880mAh) several times from one charge of the Satechi battery. Charging with the 2A port doesn't seem to charge the phone any faster though. Charging the phone from the normal 1A AC charger also seems to take less time. The battery is light, which also has me questioning it's 10,000 mAh rating. The jury is still out for me on just how extended the Satechi's 'Portable Energy Station Station Extended Battery Charger Pack' really is.

Large capacity, small size The battery pack does what it says it will - charge your gadgets. And it does it in style. The battery pack is beautiful (no lie - it's gorgeous!), solidly built, and the fit and finish is great. The external charger is a little clunky and seems out of place with the aesthetic of the battery. In fact, the charger itself could probably be built into the battery pack (along the lines of how Apple does the AirPort Express) - one less thing to carry/lose. I doubt I'll ever use the various tips included, as I tend to carry the USB cables for my devices for data transfer, power, etc., but it's nice to know they're there if I need them. Overall I'm very satisfied.

Very satisfied Size: very pocketable, though I would've preferred it slightly thicker and make the overall size more consistent with normal phone shapes.

Cost: Compared to other ones I've seen over $100, this one is appropriately priced, though with a slightly smaller battery. Regardless it will be 2-6x bigger than any device's battery, so it's sufficient for a weekend away.

Interface: I love the 5-light indicators to show the battery level. Also the power switch is nice.

Exactly as Promised This is a solid unit, good build and reasonably light for the capacity in it. The dual USB ports makes it easy.

Only real drawback is the fact that it uses a mini-USB charging port. Given that everything on the planet has switched to MicroUSB for charging it would be nice not to have to keep track of a single Mini-USB charger for this thing.

I haven't done any capacity tests to see if it actually delivers the stated 10aH, but if it doesn't I'll come back and update my review.

Just the thing I have been looking for! I recieved the battery within a week after ordering. I have no way of measuring if the capacity is as announced. Very portable and charges both my iPhone 4s and my iPad while the units are in use. I'm looking forward to never running out of battery ever again. :)
