The Soundfly will work at home without an AC/DC converter by simply connecting a male to male USB cable from one end to a computer and the other to the USB port on the unit.

Unit doesn't turn on when I plug it into the cigarette lighter port of my car. Anything i can do to solve this problem?

    • A.

Fuse inside the unit might be blown. You may try to replace the fuse with the extra one comes within the box. In order to do that, you need to remove old fuse by unscrewing the plastic cap located at the end of the unit that plugs into the cigarette lighter. And then insert the extra one and screw the cap.

    Great product Review by Joe

I have really enjoyed my Soundfly. The sound is great with little interference or static from other stations. Plus my kids really like the remote since it gives them a chance to select songs (or skip songs) they want to hear and I don't have to be distracted by doing it for them. Well done Satechi. FM quality sound. Strong signal. Little to no static.LED easy to see display. Volume, equalizer and shuffle function.
Only thing is shuffle does not have memory so it will replay songs before list is done. (Posted on 8/12/11)

Good sound quality, well built, but weird display Review by tommohawk
    Customer Rating
I found sound quality excellent - no probs with interference and havent had to retune in new locations as yet.

The web site says Soundfly will handle 99 folders and 1999 tracks.

Actually it will hold well in excess of 99 folders – I checked it up to 400 folders. However the folder number displayed on the Soundfly is only correct up to 99. Over that number, it displays a dash in front of the 2 digits. So folder 101 displays as ,d01 and 201 also displays as ,d01.

The folder number does not display via the car RDS/tag system.

With regard to the capacity of music files, the Soundfly displays correctly up to 1999 - however it seems to hold and play in excess of 9500. But the first digit can only display as 1, so eg track 2031 displays as 1031 etc.

The track number displays correctly via the RDS/tag system.

The folder ordering is also quirky. The RDS/tag system displays track number, artist, and track title. But it doesn’t display the album name. It orders by top level folder name, then by second level folder name etc as you would expect. However, it appears to order the shallowest folder depths first, and then the deeper ones after. So B/your_tracks, is before A/Ayour_tracks.

Bet bet would be to ensure unifrom folder depth.

Woould be 5* if not for quirky display. (Posted on 6/2/11)
