flawless product This unit does everything I hoped for, better than I hoped it could. The sound quality is way way better than any other FI transmitter I've ever used. It connects to my phone automatically and immediately every time. The included microphone works excellently, making it the only hands free phone system I've ever owned that is use able for phone calls and I've spent a lot of money trying different ones out: hands free Bluetooth windshield and sun visor modules from Nokia and Motorola, Jawbone and Blue Ant earpiece type headsets none of whish worked well enough to be use able. I bought this unit for listening to music from my phone to my truck's FM radio and not only does that work great but it turned out that the handsfree phone function is far better than any of four other pricey big name units I bought and disposed of after short use. The only bad thing I found about this thing for making phone calls is that when you end a call it makes a loud piercing beep through the radio which is much louder than the phone call itself, so if you turn your car's radio way up during the phone call it really makes you jump when the call ends. I've gotten used to this though it's still annoying. Can't recommend this unit enough. Buy one for your personal and work vehicles each

Very Pleased The music is clear. The phone paired without a problem (security code 0000). The call quality and microphone pick up is good. This is the only FM transmitter I've used that consistently has good sound.

I did have a USB flash drive that did not get recognized, but I use the SD flash card without any problem.

The microphone, headset, and USB/SD flash card is on the side of the unit, so watch out for using this in tight spaces. Consider a power cord extender for that.

fantastic piece of kit recently purchased the soundfly ultimate as the volvo i have does not have bluetooth or facility for sd card(which is what i play all my music from) I have to say what an amazing piece of kit this really is for the money paid(which here in england is over twice the amount paid in the usa on amazon) No 2 hour fitting like most car kits just plug it in,set it up in 5 minutes and enjoy music with comparable quality to the mmi system that i had in my audi a4 avant. terrific product, well done satechi, glad i did my research prior to making the purchase. The view model looked great and would have probably gone for that, but unfortunately could not get hold of that over here yet.in saying that the ultimate works just great.

Fantastic product! I bought this product as a replacement for the FM transmitter I had from Belkin that plugged right into the cigarette lighter thinking the hands-free system would be a better choice. I was right! The sound, for me, is a bit "staticky" when I make phone calls on the other end I have heard, but the music and phone calls sound great through my 1997 car stereo system. I love the hands free option and can't imagine going back to the other system. I definitely recommend this product!! :)

Unbelievable sound quality Out of the box, I plugged the transmitter in and thought it would pair with my iPod Touch automatically. It did not. So slightly disappointed I settled on using the cable that came with the transmitter. BUT THEN, the thought occurred to me to READ THE MANUAL. Sure enough, the instructions for pairing Bluetooth devices are plainly shown. Once I followed the instructions, I had no problem with pairing the iPod Touch with the transmitter. Once a device is paired with the transmitter, the only things you should have to do for repeated future use is: plug in the transmitter, have Bluetooth enabled on the iPod and the car radio station tuned to the frequency displayed on the transmitter.

I purchased the transmitter strictly for the FM transmitter / music. I have not tried the phone feature yet and probably will not use the phone feature. I have used the Belkin FM transmitter which works O.K. but there is a noticeable static overlaying the music. I have not experienced any static sound with the Soundfly device. The transmission from the Soundfly device is strong, so strong that it completely took over a Rock and Roll station's frequency on my radio. I think the difference in the Belkin and Soundfly is the strength of the signal. I tried the remote and it is pretty handy. I can forward through songs on the iPod, adjust volume, and change the radio frequency. I think for the money, this is the best FM transmitter you can find on the market, especially with being completely wire free.

Great price, good sound, weak tech. Should have option for cable so the unit and power don't have to be in the same place. Not conveinent in my car. This is 2012, ditch the useless remote and have an app to control the unit! You're already connected to the phone. My radar detector has a great app.

Great product I purchased this device to use it in my truck,it was my last option or i was going to replace the unit with a new bluetooth capable stereo costing me nearly $200+, problem was it is a company truck and if i did purchase a new stereo haedset they were not going to allow me take it off in case i had to change vehicles. Great little product, unplug it from the charger everyday and throw it in my bag so regardless which vehicle i jump in i can use it. Great sound quality, no echoing when I am on a phone call. I can watch YouTube videos and listen to the sound from the truck speakers, listen to online radios through the speakers. All I can say about this product is it is excellent, I highly recommend to anyone.

Exchange Process Seamless Unfortunately I got a defective unit, but, being an electronic, I accept that this can happen with anything regardless of price or quality. The menu button on my unit doesn't work. That said...it still gets five stars, because the sound quality for music is amazing, phone calls great on both ends, and love the external microphone. Best part, I called the customer service number in the package, and although I bought from amazon, just gave them my amazon order number, and they advance shipped me a replacement and prepaid return label. THAT'S service! Thanks Satechi!!

The device is easy to use, and it is a marvelous way to listen to the music on my iphone. When I set my phone to randomly select the songs, it's sort of like listening to my very own radio station. The ability to make and take phone calls through my car's stereo system is just icing on the cake. This is a very cool device at a great price. I love it!

Hands free calls and phone audio. Fantastic!!!, I got this product because I was looking to replace my bluetooth headset with a speaker phone product. I was also interested in streaming audio from my Android phone (Droid, Droid X2) over my cars speakers. It does both, splendidly. The audio is clear and plenty loud.

The included microphone has a long enough cord to conceal it from the cigarette lighter socket, all the way under the dash, up next to the door and across the head liner. I have mine clipped to my map lamp. Position and direction are imnportant. If people are having trouble hearing you, make sure the mic is in a good place and pointed at your mouth.

The bluetooth streaming works great. It takes about 5 seconds of the ignition being on for it to connect both audio and phone functionality. I am able to listen to streaming music or a podcast over my car speakers. Excellent!

This product just makes it easy. You can use the pickup and hangup buttons from the device, instead of your phone. There are also audio controls to pause/play and skip tracks that work great.

Very Strong Signal, clear most of the way The fm signal that it transmits is very good, sometimes i wasnt able to tell i was listening through the radio. The remote and sd card playback function work well too. I took this little guy down to south carolina from new york and only had to change the station a few time.

    Things I have not tested:
    bluetooth (connection, music, and calls)
    line out function(through headphone jack)

I'm sure the above functions work well enough though. Over all i believe this is a great fm transmitter and worth the investment; Now i dont have to worry about car stereo solutions for any future cars i may be driving!

Works great! I was looking for a quality FM transmitter so that I could listen to music from my I Phone because my pickup radio doesn't have an auxillary port. When I realized I could also incorporate hands free phone use in the same device I decided to give it a try. This soundfly works well for both needs. The FM transmitter seems to be very powerful. I have had other transmitters and constantly have to change the radio station to find an open channel. This one continues to play my music even when I encounter fairly strong signal on the channel I am using. I have made several 4 and 5 hour trips and only had to change the station about 3 three times in a month. The hands free phone works really well also. I mounted the mic on my visor and the people I talk to say they can tell I'm on a speaker phone but they can hear me fine, I have to adjust the radio volume a bit when switching between phone and music but I don't see that as a big issue. The bluetooth connection is easy to use, I just press one button on the soundfly to disconnect when I get out and connect when I get in. The only negative I would have is the directions that come with the product. They are very vague but I was able to learn how to use it on my own in about 15 mins. I think the soundfly is a good value for the money over a custom installed product.

Works great! I purchased the Soundfly BT in 2010, and I love it still. I had purchased the GOgroove flexSMART X2 unit in 2011 for my second car, but found the outgoing sound quality was so poor I threw it in the trash. Callers could not hear what I was saying! I think that it has to do with the fact that the Soundfly has an external microphone (which I hang on my visor). So I THREW AWAY the GOgroove and will today purchase my second Soundfly BT for my other car.

Solid device. Works as advertised. Note: I've only tested this device using a bluetooth connection with my EVO Shift.

This thing is built solid! The remote is pretty unimagined; it doesn't work so well in a car, because there is no way to distinguish the buttons by touch. At night, if a bad song comes on, I'm stuck with it until a red light. Beyond that, though, the Soundfly BT has a lot going on for it. It transmits a very powerful signal; the only thing it struggles with is the local country music station, being a mere mile away or so, that's not so hard to understand. Other reviewers have noted that later revisions of this device were built with weaker transmitters. I've seen no evidence of this.

Bluetooth seems a little glitchy. If you try changing tracks too quickly, Android seems to crash causing a hard reboot. Sometimes you need to remove the transmitter and put it back in to re-establish a bluetooth connection. Not sure what music quality gets transferred from my phone; I notice some scratchiness at high volumes for some songs.

The warnings in the manual are rather scary. They claim serious damage to the device or your vehicle if you try to start/stop your vehicle with the device plugged in, and the Soundfly even comes with an extra fuse to drive the point home! I have started my car with the transmitter on; I've also stopped my car with the transmitter on. I believe the real danger is when you have a device plugged in the USB port. Keep that in mind.

Boils down to this: The remote is awkward, the device controls are in general awkward...but once you've set it to a good station, the Soundfly BT Ultimate works beautifully. Changing stations isn't so hard you have to whip out the manual, but you can't do it while driving, that's for sure.
